Chronicles of a Mindless Hack

It's seems I haven't been on much. I've blogged fleetingly, but I'm a bit busy lately. Sorry for my sparse presence. Formerly, I was on vacation and then I had a few tournaments in which to participate. Nothing of any particular importance in my opinion.

Perhaps you remember my post on my little bitty problem? Yes... well, it has been confirmed and I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Thanks to many of you for encouraging me through that, I might have had a mental breakdown had I not got my head together. Your down to earth advice helped a lot. Treatment wise, I'm not on medication. I've opted to completely revamp my diet to accomodate my condition. I'll be fine, or so the doctor says, but I've got to be careful.

Hmm... one last thing. I won't be blogging much... I will comment and read as much as I can but posts will be sparse. School is starting for me and that is my number one priority. When I do post, be sure to know that they will be serious... very few will have anything to do with 'not overly serious crap'.

Wait a minute... what do you mean when you say that your blog is going to be SERIOUS only. Why dont ya just shoot me girl! I mean I want to see the funny side of you as well... oh come on ... you know you can do this.

Now I wont be saying anything as trivial about your 'condition' like 'you'll get used to it' or 'bummer' or anything in that mould. Believe me when I say that it is a good thing you were diagnosed early with it in the context that a lot of people live for many years knowing nothing about having this 'condition' and all of a sudden an impending bad development in their health hits them like a ton of bricks later in life.

Besides, I now know why you are so sweet and you make me hang out here at epoch[Z] headquarters day in day out. It is that little extra sugar making all the difference:) (maybe a crap joke but still a joke, lol).

Take care and I wish you all the best for your upcoming school year!

I am so glad that you will be able to control it with diet. I have heard of people that changed their lifestyle and never had to worry about it as long as they keep within reason.

I totally believe that if you can do it with food instead of drugs...DO IT. You will be better for it in the long run. Another big thing, stay active. Don't allow yourself to slow down.

Also, research how this will effect you when it does come time to start a family...if you know what I mean. See if due to your diabetes if you will be popping out little sugar cubes. (what? That's sorta funny...painful, but funny)

Don't give up. I personally think your new diet is healthier than any out there and should be the standard diet in the US today. Maybe obesity wouldn't be such a problem.

BTW, I am going back to school soon myself so I know exactly how you feel. Only thing is that I am planning on picking up on my blogging as opposed to letting it go. Don't let school keep you from blogging. Watch, you will need it more than you think

You and I have been traveling in the same circles for awhile without directly “talking” to one another. I have however been visiting your blog. I have noted that one of your interests is politics; I have started posting a series of articles on politics and religion. I would very much like to receive any comments you may kindly like to share.

I see you are not going to post as much as usual but will still be making comments on blogs so that is why I thought I would mention this to you. It goes without saying that I wish you the very best in your struggle and adaptation to your health concerns, take care.

Hey matie!!! Well, I expect to see your lovely comments on my posts, OR ELSE THERE'LL BE TROUBLE!!!

Don't leave it too long between posts, I'll miss your wild ramblings :(

I'm glad you are sorting things out with your health and that it is somethin' you can control with dietry balances. Oh and best of luck with your school year (not that you need luck).

Take care and speak soon

Big Hugs, Graham x

deadpoolite - Haha!! Okay okay... I'll occasionally slip in some of my sarcastic humor. But true, it's a good thing I found out early. Now I'm flattered you like to hang around this dingy place of mine, I'll work as much blogging time in as I can.

spaceman spiff - Ah, my new diet isn't as hard to stay on as I thought. Junk food is pretty no existent, and I agree with you. More people should eat like me (or diabetics on a food 360). It's just as tasty as anything around, and definitely just as satisfying.

Oh yes, school. It's not so much the school thing that would keep me away as much as the fact that I play sports year around. Plus enrolling in all AP/ Honors classes takes a toll on me sometimes. I just plop dead on my bed when I'm through with everything. I'll probably want to blog more than anything, and believe me, I'll try. Thanks and good luck with your schooling!

Hey, girl!!!

First of all: I'm sorry about your medical condition; however I am glad you are going to change your diet (I do not agree with medication...drugs are not always the answer); have you ever heard of reiki? I am sure you'll be fine too (I agree with the doctors lol)!

Second: school is extremely important, and should always be your priority (I am proud of your thoughts on this department - from one sister to the other)!

It's ok, everytime you post I shall be here to read it :)!
It's always a pleasure to read your comments: I just love them :)! You strike me as a person who like to make use of reason, and that's just awesome :)!

Good luck with school. Like we say in Europe: I wish you a good "rentrée"!

Cheers!

Max - I glad I have kept you as a reader, and no doubt I'll be frequenting your blog :) Ah, yes... me and reason go hand in hand. I like to at least be semi- logical when in comes to things. Haha like we say in America: Thanks for your comment!

Hello, girl!

Reiki is the practice of transmiting energy to someone through our hands! Reiki means "vital energy"!

It restores the balance to the chakras (whose unbalance causes all sorts of diseases - so they say)! The fact is that Reiki really helps people feeling much much better, and in some cases people are cured!

If you wish, give it a try!

Cheers!

D'oh, I just realized that was an old post I just posted on.

It's great that you're not on medication - diet and exercise are the best way to go and they'll help your all around health, not just your diabetes.

Good luck and keep us posted on how things are going.

Cheers,
Jay
